Actually working with others in Recoveries Anonymous.
1. As soon as you have finished R.A.'s Step Presentation, we encourage you to find and begin working with others.
a. Make sure that each newcomer you work with has a copy of the latest version of R.A.'s Step Presentation Workbook. Also make sure they know that they should give a copy of R.A.'s Step Presentation Workbook to everyone they work with.
b. Make sure that each newcomer you work with has read the information on pages 2, 3, and 4 in R.A.'s Step Presentation Workbook.
c. Ask your R.A. Sponsor to go over the information and instructions on pages 21, 22, 23, and 24 in R.A.'s Step Presentation Workbook with you.
d. Then ask your R.A. Sponsor to go over the other pages in R.A.'s Step Presentation Workbook with you until you are comfortable with all the information that is in R.A.'s Step Presentation Workbook.
2. Visit R.A.'s www.RA-Steps.info website with your R.A. Sponsor.
a. Your R.A. Sponsor should make sure that you understand how R.A.'s Twelve Step info website is designed and the importance of the information it contains.
b. Your R.A. Sponsor should make sure that you understand why each R.A. newcomer you work with has to read or listen to all the vital information that is in "Section A—Do This Before Starting R.A.'s Step Presentation." You need to have them do this so they will understand how R.A.'s Step Presentation is going to work for them.
c. If you are not comfortable with what to say to your newcomer after they read each paragraph in R.A.'s Multilith Big Book, read or listen to all the pages on R.A.'s www.RA-Steps.info website.
3. Then, to help you become comfortable working with others, we suggest that you ask your R.A. Sponsor to role-play with you.
a. Ask your R.A. Sponsor to pretend to be a newcomer, and let you practice using the www.RA-Steps.info website, R.A.'s Multilith Big Book, and R.A.'s Step Presentation Workbook, to take them through a sample R.A. Step Presentation.
b. Continue practicing with your R.A. Sponsor until you have enough confidence to actually start working with others.
4. Finally, click on the "Contact us" button on the R.A. website and volunteer to work with R.A. newcomers by phone and over the Internet.
